Devil is actually a very lovely boy. He loves human interaction, be it grooming, training sessions or just following us around when we tidy his paddock. His feet are a good size and quality, he is well behaved for the farrier and is also gaining weight nicely..  Devil came to New Stride as his trainer recognized  that, while he loved to run, his favourite spot was the middle of the pack. Devil was in no hurry to go to the front, he just liked the company of his race horse pals. Devil is  very energetic and once tacked up he's not convinced yet about his new slower paced life. We have been working with Devil on ground manners and in the round pen as well as getting him comfortable in the arenas and around the farm. Cows (at a distance) don't bother him as much as when he first came. We have just started riding Devil, as with ground work and in the round pen, this guy is smart! He really tries to do the right thing. Devil has a lot of energy which needs to be channeled in a positive direction in a patient manner, he really wants to please. Steering and whoa aren't great, but coming along. As of November 2017 we are showing him sparingly to people with years of experience with OTTBs.
