Sunny was a project horse taken on by New Stride. He went through check ligament surgery as a yearling to correct clubbed front feet, and is now sound and ready for adoption. Click here for details on his surgery. Sunny is completely sound and has had no problems with his feet or legs since the surgery.
Sunny has been started under saddle, and is progressing nicely. He is currently walking and trotting under saddle and has never once bucked, bolted or even spooked! Sunny lunges, ground drives, and stands beautifully for mounting. He is still very green, and needs a relaxed, experienced rider who can work with him to continue his training, but he is kind and willing and a pleasure to work with. He has beautiful floating elevated movement, and is a good pleasure/trail and light dressage prospect. Due to the length and angle of the pasterns, he is not suitable for jumping, but he has no problems with any other activities.
Sunny has a great temperament and loves people. He genuinely wants to please, and will follow you around the field like a dog asking to be petted! He needs somebody who can work with him regularly and give him lots of one-on-one attention. He is very playful, so stall and field toys are a good idea to keep his mind busy. Right now his favorite stall toy is a milk jug filled with horse cookies.
