New Stride would like to thank the Horsemen’s Benevolence & Protective Association (HBPA) and Great Canadian Casinos for their generous support!
Our Mission
New Stride’s goals are to ensure that each and every noncompetitive and injured Thoroughbred racehorse gets a second chance and is placed into a caring, adoptive home. We involve and educate volunteers in the care, maintenance, handling and retraining of the horses. New Stride provides an alternative to auction for owners who find they can no longer care for their horses.
March 2008 - New Stride on TV!
Shaw Television's news program "The Express" ran a profile on New Stride on March 3, 2008. You can view the program, featuring horse Sterling Legacy, which explains what we do and how we help the horses in our care.

July Featured Horse: Sir Luther ("Luther")
Each month, New Stride will highlight a different horse in our program. July's horse is Sir Luther, a four year old gelding. Luther has 30 days professional training under saddle and goes both English and Western. Amazing personality - this horse is calm enough for a less experienced rider. Luther ties, clips, trailers and recently did a 6 hour trail ride through Campbell Valley Park! He has also been used to pony another horse and rider.
