 Ernie is a very friendly guy, a big cuddle bug, well loved by his racetrack people. He's settled in with New Stride nicely and is fitting in well. Ernie tries hard during his 'retraining sessions', he loves attention and grooming. We are working with him from the ground, teaching him how to behave for his life off the track and he's progressing well. He looks forward to his training sessions and is an enthusiastic ride. Ernie loves to interact with other horses too,he's just an all 'round good dude.  Ernie has three lovely gaits, a good walk, a ground covering easy trot and a lovely big comfortable canter. We are taking our time teaching him a new balance and to move from the leg.  At present we are adding poles to his riding sessions. He also enjoys taking 'breaks' to hang out and watch the other horses work. Ernie will fit in well with a more casual or 'non' show home. Ernie loves our farrier and stands nicely for hot shoeing. He is also quite keen to learn the art of opening gates while under saddle and doing well at it! Check him out on our Facebook page.  He came to us because he has laryngeal hemiplegia or 'roaring'. Ernie has had surgery to open his airway.
