Swordy is a lovely gelding, friendly, slightly reserved until he gets to know you and quite ‘light’ to handle. Swordy was well travelled in his racing days, starting out in New York State. He has 38 starts, and came in the first 3 a whopping 21 times. As he aged, Swordy’s owner noticed he wasn’t as interested in racing anymore and donated him to New Stride so we could retrain him and find him a great ‘post track’ life with a new loving owner. Swordy was and still is a barn favourite. He’s a bit of a clown at times and also very cuddly, he really laps up attention! Currently Swordy is lunged over trot poles and learning new ground work to keep his muscles looking gorgeous. He’s ready for ‘meet and greet’. Swordy will need someone very familiar with OTTBs as he is quite a sensitive horse. He is unfortunately not a candidate for riding as his back and withers aren’t comfortable under a saddle or weight of a rider.
