Rose is a sweet mare, she seems quite happy with her new life. We are currently working with her on ground work, in the round pen, the arena and teaching her to ground tie. Ground tying is a process she’s figuring out now, and she’s happy for the attention and stands quite well most days. She’s under saddle, stands nicely at the mounting block and is ok with horses hacking or jumping around her in the arena. Rose is learning two different speeds at the walk and trot, as well as how to keep her shoulder ‘up’ on a turn or circle. We have recently added canter to her training sessions and she’s doing great. Rose prefers to be ridden on a very soft rein. She also ‘parks’ quite well while horses are jumping in the arena, it seems she enjoys watching. She seems the confident type, and hasn’t been spooky in the arena or around the farm. Rose is ready to learn how fun trail riding can be beside a steady friend. She’s also been very good for the vet and farrier. Rose raced quite a bit, her best home would be with her own special person, lots of turn out with horse friends and no jumping. She is a really lovely mare, deserving of a very special person of her own.
